Description
Hard Ferrite magnets (ceramic magnets), are mainly manufactured by SrO or BaO and Fe2O3. There are two production methods: Dry press and Wet press. The dry process is used for istropic and anistropic material, and the wet method applies only to the production of anistropic material.
The elements of Ferrite magnet are ferric oxide、barium、strontium. Ferrite has higher coercive force and higher resistance to be demagnetized and oxidized than other non-rare earth permanent magnets. The biggest advantage of such magnet is their low cost. It is widely used from motors and loudspeakers to toys and craft etc.
Ferrite magnets have good resistance to demagnetization, excellent corrosion resistance, and especially popular advantage of low cost. However, They are very hard, brittle and limited to simple size. The mould charge is vey expensive too. This class of magnets have lower energy characteristics compared to other magnetic materials.
