AV6419 distributed optical fiber strain tester can measure strain distribution, loss distribution and Brillouin scattering spectrum at different location of optical fiber simultaneously, and can display 3D traces and multiple distribution parameters. It has the advantages of high strain measurement accuracy, good measurement repeatability, non-destructive measurement via one end, and it has become the indispensable instrument in the field of optical fiber communication and optical fiber sensor (OFS).?


AV6419 is used widely in the fields of health monitoring of bridge building, dam, tunnel, lofty building, oil well platform and oil pipeline, and also in the fields of forecasting of geological hazard, such as mountain landslide, mud-rock flow and earthquake, and the fields of the intelligent structure monitoring of seaborne naval vessels and aviation aerospace.?
AV6419 is also used to measuring the strain distribution of optical fiber loop or subsea optical cable in process of development, production and maintaining of fiber-optic gyroscope (OFG) , optical fiber hydrophone and subsea optical cable.

Due to optimized optical path , circuit and digital data processing model, AV6419 can provide with 1m or less spatial resolution. In the right fig , the distance interval between marker1 and marker2 is 0.92m, and the interval between marker3 and marker4 is 0.51m.

Visual Fault Locator(VFL)

AV6419 has built-in visual fault locator (VFL) function, and has three operation modes, such as CW, 1Hz and 2Hz. It can help operators to find conveniently the break location or the position with high optical loss in short-distance optical fiber link close to the instrument.

Geologic hazard (landslide) monitoring

By laying optical fiber on the important landslide, with the aid of AV6419 optical fiber strain distributed analyzer, we can detect the shift degree of landslide internal rock-soil and detect its tendency real time. When the strain is big, operator can handle it in time by setting appropriate threshold alarm, so this can avoid big loss due to geology hazard.

The optical fiber under test was G.652 SM.In the upper figures,the left figure shows the measurement trace of temperature range from 30℃ to 50℃with the span of 1℃, and the right figure shows the trace of temperature range from 50℃ to 90℃ with the span of 1℃(below 50℃) and 5℃(over 50℃). According to the left figure, it can be found out the temperature resolution of AV6419 can be 0.5℃ actually.?
